The SSR wheels are very pricey, but also very light. According to Tire Rack, the 17x8.5 rears weigh 15.5 lbs each, whereas the Mille Miglia MM-112 rears from my previous car weigh 24 lbs each, even though the SSRs are wider. I compared them on a bathroom scale, and the new tire & wheel combination weighs 8 lbs. less than my old package. That's a total reduction of 32 lbs. of unsprung weight. It's now back to the range of the orginal 15" wheel/tire package.
